As part of the ISEA 2025 international symposium, Laureline Chiapello, in collaboration with Florian Glesser, presented “Things Happen”, an experimental video game work that explores the relationship between creators and digital tools.
Rather than adopting a stance of control or dominance over game engines, the project embraces a dialogic approach: engaging in conversation with the tools, acknowledging their agency, and remaining open to what they may reveal or suggest throughout the creative process.
This presentation was featured alongside individual contributions from CREAT researchers Yan Breuleux and Louis-Philippe Rondeau, as part of the Quebec delegation. Several members of the Hexagram network were also present, and a podcast about the event is currently in production.
