Professor Laureline Chiapello at the Game Developers Conference 2026

“CLTRS”, a video game developed through a research-creation project led by Professor Laureline Chiapello in collaboration with a student team, was presented at the prestigious Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2026 in San Francisco. This internationally renowned event brings together more than 20,000 professionals each year to showcase the most significant innovations in the video game industry.

Driven by a critical and inclusive approach, “CLTRS” stands out for its socially innovative perspective, offering a representation of female pleasure through an accessible and engaging gameplay experience.

The project was featured through two presentations. The first, delivered as part of the Educator Soapbox, explored the challenges of bridging academic training and the video game industry. The second was presented at the highly selective Experimental Games Showcase, an international platform recognized for highlighting bold and innovative approaches to game design.

These two presentations reflect the growing visibility of research-creation and its ability to engage with professional communities on an international scale.

The presentations are available free of charge on the GDC Vault:
