Study Reveals the Economic and Social Impact of Arts and Culture in the Mauricie Region
A new study confirms the vital role of arts and culture in the Mauricie region’s economy and sustainable development.
On June 17, 2026, Culture Mauricie and its partners unveiled the findings of a study examining the socioeconomic impacts of arts and culture in the Mauricie region. The study was conducted by Frédéric Laurin, a CREAT co-researcher, professor of economics at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, and researcher at the Institut de recherche sur les PME.
Considerable Economic Benefits
The study highlights a significant multiplier effect: every $100 of output generated by Mauricie’s arts and culture sector would produce a total economic impact of $208.
It also indicates that Mauricie ranks fifth among Québec’s 17 administrative regions in terms of cultural and artistic vitality.
