Arts and Health: CREAT Research Chair Members on the Program at an International Conference in Valenciennes
On November 19 and 20, 2026, members of CREAT’s Arts and Health research Axis will participate in an international conference at Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France in Valenciennes, France. The head of the Arts and Health research Axis, Olivier Beauchet, the co-researchers Charlotte Gagnon and Kevin Galery, and student member Simon Chioini will be featured in the program. The event will explore the contributions of the arts, culture and humanities to the education and training of healthcare professionals.
Discussions will address existential distress, professional identity formation, arts-based teaching approaches and methods for evaluating their effects.
Alongside the conference, a meeting of international partners is planned to explore the creation of a European network dedicated to preventing mental health problems and promoting mental well-being among university students through the arts.
These discussions could pave the way for new collaborative research initiatives in 2027, particularly through the COST and Horizon Europe programs.
