Header Julie Bérubé has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for the project “L’économie sociale au service des arts: le center de service du Théâtre Aux Écuries”. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Julie Rijpens of UQAM, who is acting as co-researcher.
After identifying a problem in the cultural sector, and particularly in the theatrical sector, where organizations are often small and have limited resources, Théâtre Aux Écuries set up its Service Center. This facility gives theatrical organizations access to specialized resources at a rate that varies according to their level of public funding.
This funding was granted as part of the Partnership Commitment Grant program, and aims to support Théâtre Aux Écuries in identifying and measuring the non-financial impacts of their Service Center. The project will run until autumn 2026.
