Charlotte Gagnon and Kévin Galéry, members of the CREAT Chair’s Arts and Health axis have been selected to give a joint 20-minute talk at the 3rd Annual Conference of the University of Ottawa’s Institute for Research in Music and Health. “Exploring the Intersection of Music and Health” will be presented on May 14, 2025, and will focus on a project developed in partnership with Espace pour la vie Montréal, Opéra de Montréal and the laboratoire AgeTeQ : “L’Écho des plantes”.
Developed by mezzo-soprano Charlotte Gagnon (Head of Social Impact and Education, Opéra de Montréal), the project aims to deepen young people’s emotional connection with environmental issues and enable them to express their ecological concerns through art, opera and music. “L’Écho des plantes” highlights the potential of interdisciplinary approaches to environmental education. It integrates art, technology and science to engage young participants in ecological issues in a meaningful and creative way.
The presentation will provid an overview of the project’s methodology, the students’ creative processes and the transformative potential of integrating art and technology in environmental education.
