Laureline Chiapello (NAD-UQAC) presented her work at two conferences in Montreal.
At the Canadian Game Studies Association Conference, she presented “The Contribution of Pragmatist Philosophy to the Future of Game Studies”. Her presentation explored how pragmatist philosophy can enhance the field of video game studies.
At the CIFEL Colloque interuniversitaire francophone d’études ludiques, she co-presented the session « Pouvoir et collaboration au sein d’une équipe de développement de jeu vidéo », in collaboration with Dave Hawey, Jocelyn Benoit, Édouard Raffis, and Alice Calixte (all from NAD-UQAC). This discussion analyzed power dynamics and collaboration mechanisms within video game development teams.
Professor Chiapello also presented her video game CLTRS, which focuses on female pleasure, at the demo night held jointly by both Conferences. The game was developed in collaboration with students and professors from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music, UQAC’s Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, the NAD-UQAC, and mentors from the video game industry.
