A New research mandate on the discoverability of cultural content
How can legislative initiatives support the discoverability of French-language and local cultural content? A new comparative study, to be conducted in 2026–2027, will explore this question to inform and inspire member countries of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.
The mandate was awarded to Sylvain Martet, Scientific Director at Artenso, and Destiny Tchéouali, a professor at UQAM, both co-researchers with the CREAT Research Chair, alongside Gabriela Molina, a researcher at Artenso.
The study will compare legislative initiatives addressing the discoverability of French-language and local cultural content. It aims to identify ways to strengthen the presence, visibility and recommendation of this content in digital environments.
The team will produce a rigorous comparative analysis with findings that can directly inform parliamentary action. This mandate reflects an approach to applied research that combines the production of robust knowledge with a commitment to making it accessible and usable for those it is intended to serve.
