EMQ Summer School on Cultural Discoverability

From August 26 to 30, the Summer School on the Quebec Music Ecosystem and Cultural Discoverability was held. The event was organized by Romuald Jamet (INRS) and Guillaume Blum (Université Laval), as part of the Chair in Creative Economy and Well-Being (CREAT) and the Quebec Research Chair on Francophone Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies (IANF). The event also received support from the Fernand-Dumont Chair on Culture, the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

This week of rich exchanges among researchers, artists, and professionals in the field was marked by in-depth reflections on musical dynamics in the digital age. Concerts by emerging artists complemented these moments of exchange and highlighted the full potential and diversity of the Quebec music scene, with outstanding performances by Slim TonyÉrika HagenÉrika ZaryaMelvin and Socalled.
