Renouveau MD: Integrating visual arts into the training of future physicians

Supported by the Arts and Health Axis, this educational initiative led by Dr. Aspasia Karalis integrates visual arts into medical training at the Université de Montréal, in partnership with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) and Culture Trois-Rivières.

Immersive workshops held in museum settings, based on visual thinking strategies, aim to foster observation skills, empathy, and communication among medical students. For the first time in Canada, this initiative is integrated into a mandatory medical curriculum, at the heart of a humanistic approach to clinical education.
