Three Research Reports to Explore: Culture, Communities and Entrepreneurship in Regions
How can culture in the regions be defined? What role does it play in linguistic minority communities? How can innovative entrepreneurship rooted in regional realities be supported? Three research reports build on discussions held during scientific gatherings organized or co-organized by the Culture in the Regions Axis team of the CREAT Chair.
JOURNÉES D’ÉTUDES SUR LA NOTION DE CULTURE EN RÉGION
What does “culture in the regions” mean, and how does this concept vary across territories? This report documents a collective reflection process initiated by the Culture in the Regions Axis, bringing together public consultation, a literature review, and a lunchtime lecture series.
Held on May 28 and 29, 2026, at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, the Study Days continued this reflection by fostering connections among cultural practitioners, academics, and community members. The report invites readers to explore what characterizes culture in regional settings and the different ways it can be understood.

CULTURE EN RÉGION ET COMMUNAUTÉS LINGUISTIQUES MINORITAIRES
This report stems from Symposium 464, held on May 12, 2026, at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières as part of the 93rd Acfas Congress. It explores the place and role of culture in linguistic minority communities, particularly in the regions.
The contributions examine connections among artistic creation, linguistic identity, and community vitality. They also explore differences between cultural dynamics in urban centres and remote regions, along with issues related to access to resources and support for artistic creation.

PERSÉIS — ATTIRER ET RETENIR LES TALENTS EN RÉGION POUR FAVORISER L’ENTREPRENEURIAT INNOVANT AU QUÉBEC
This report brings together the main contributions from the symposium held on November 18 and 19, 2025, at DigiHub Shawinigan. Through summaries of the panel discussions, it highlights several issues related to regional entrepreneurial development: the social economy, innovation, entrepreneurial support, arts entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs’ health and well-being, and entrepreneurship among people from diverse backgrounds.
The report aims to inform collective reflection and support the development of an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem rooted in regional realities. The project is part of the PERSÉIS research–society initiative, led by the Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec (MAIN) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ).
