RESEARCH CHAIR IN THE CREATIVE ECONOMY AND WELL-BEING (CREAT)
The creative economy is defined by economic activity based on the human creative capacity of it’s primary labour force. It encompasses industries and activities where creativity and innovation are key.
The creative economy brings together various sectors generally associated with creation, such as the visual and performing arts, and design, as well as more traditional activities such as engineering and law.
It relies in part on social (individual and collective), cognitive and cultural diversity, on collaborations with individuals or institutional players, as well as social and managerial dynamics within organizations themselves. It is based on social and critical perspectives.
By promoting individual and collective creativity, the creative economy enriches cultural, social and economic life, while encouraging close collaboration among professionals from different sectors, artists, researchers and communities.
