“L’écho des plantes”

This project explores the boundary between nature, art, science, and technology by translating the electrical variations and micro-physiological changes of plants into sound and music. Thanks to Charlotte Gagnon and high school students from various schools across Montréal, these signals are transformed into a lyrical work that allows students to express their relationship to ecology and their fears for the future.

“L’écho des plantes” shows how digital technology can become a tool for mediating between the living world and culture. In a world in crisis, rediscovering an aesthetic experience—one that is sensory, meaningful, and shared—becomes an act of resistance. It is a way to rethink our relationship with plant life and to transform eco-anxiety into a form of engagement that carries meaning.
